"When you put yourself on the line in a race and expose yourself to the unknown, you learn things about yourself that are very exciting."
- Doris Brown Heritage, pioneer in women's distance running

i ran in my first half marathon on saturday and it is safe to say i am completely addicted!!!!!

when i started the race, time stood still for an instant, and i was seriously moved to tears...
i was so inspired and encouraged by the others running alongside me,
elevated by the sheer adrenaline rush,
and filled with hope as so many would stare down the face of adversity.

while starting the race was incredible,
finish it was ten times more so!

i was so focused on the finish line that i would have missed my family on the sidelines had i not heard them yelling out my name!

to see ricky, my mom and my three precious boys smiling and cheering me on was hands down,
 the. best. feeling.

"The miracle isn't that I finished. The miracle is that I had the courage to start."

    1. thank you so much!!! so exciting that you are training for one!!! if you are actually putting in the time to train, you will do great!! I used this free app called "run keeper" for my training and LOVED it!! I highly recommend it!! the only thing that took my off guard was how tough the last mile was, haha. of course, it was completely up hill on the course I did, which I did not anticipate. :) You will love it though!!! I'm already trying to find another one to do!! much love! xoxo
