james&laine: lately...

blogging has been moved to the back burner lately.

we are on our third week in a row of visitors, which has meant lots of laughter, soulful chats and fun time with family and friends!

ricky has been busier than ever with only a few weeks left of the football season.

and you guys, i was actually thankful this last sunday that he had to work!

my washer machine broke last week and the earliest a technician could make it out was

this coming thursday...

since we have more family coming in town this wednesday, i was slightly concerned.

i was ready to pack up all three boys and head to a laundromat when ricky said he would just take it all up to the field house and do it while he worked.

he did it ALL in ONE LOAD!!

(i sent him with a huge laundry basket full, one large tub and two large trash bags...definitely would have taken me at least five!)

if you know me, you know laundry is my nemesis, but this just about cured me!

he brought it all back, i folded it all at once and then had it put away.

i asked if we could just do this from now on, but i don't think he is going for it. :)

we finally joined the chalkboard club this last week!

i know the craze has probably come and gone, but i couldn't resist when i found this amazing frame in the trash!

finding junk and making it into something new is probably one of my favorite things!

we are currently renting our home so painting a chalkboard wall was never really an option...this has been such a great alternative.

now to go find a place to hang it!

the frame happened to be exactly 2' by 4' so i scooped up a $7 2' by 4' board from Lowes to use as the chalkboard.

the boys got to get creative for a bit before it was my turn!

we are soaking up the outdoors as much as possible this fall!!

we even made a little fire pit and have been putting it to good use every night since!

my friend, Emma, came and stayed this last weekend.

my boys pretty much adore her...as do I!!

i finally ordered from Bountiful Baskets this last week!

i was thoroughly impressed with the produce...not all is pictured since my boys have an affinity for fruit and raided the box before i could snap some pictures. :)

i was especially excited about the pomegranates since i have yet to use them in a juice.

they are now a new favorite to add in!
